[Review] Mr. Queen Episode 1 - 20 (End)

A love tragedy in disguise. 

I actually felt so hollow and upset inside when Bong Hwan was switched out from the Joseon body. As much as the real So Yong had laid foundation to this love relationship, it was all along Bong Hwan's personality and actions that had captured the king's heart. To the point I wasn't even sure how the story will wrap up - Can't we have Bong Hwan to officially adopt So Yong's body, ditch his identity confusion, and stay together with Cheoljong? Even Cheoljong's instincts were telling him that something was missing. The way he was feeling a strange loss while fondling the Queen's dictionary kind of hurts. He didn't know that he actually knew that he had lost his real soulmate. I feel so bad for him, and myself. Bleh. 

It had been ages since I've completed a korean drama, to be honest I really enjoyed Mr Queen and I was very much intrigued in the relationship Cheoljong and Bong Hwan were building together. It was a testament to our perception of love transcending genders, to love somebody for whom they are and not what they are. Will we be equally receptive if Bong Hwan appears in his real shell and get together with Cheoljong? Food for thoughts.
