Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo Episode 9 - 10

Growing up is nothing short of pain. In this week's episodes we're confronted with raging emotions of one sided love, both old and newly founded, and together our hearts ache for teary eyed Bok Joo who fights to find a balance between her excruciating crush and vulnerable self esteem, only to have both crumpling into pieces.

Despite clinching the gold medal for her lift, Bok Joo's pride stoops to its lowest as she realises Jae Yi amongst the audience crowd, witnessing what she'd considered as her ugliest moment and would have rather her crush not to see it at all. We could feel the world crashing down on her, her inferiority complex crushing her up more than any weights can do from within. So painful, so aching. My heart is further squeezed when Joon Hyung chooses his own way of protecting her by quietly clocking in her sadness from afar (and lashing out later at his brother for his ignorance). We know we can trust this boy for his ultimate sweetness.

Time would heal the scars, but for now, we definitely need Bok Joo to see her worth and beauty that she carries, veins popping or not. The road for self discovery is long, but it's these raw feelings so true and untainted it make us miss our adolescence, the days so frustrating but beautiful. But what's best is that Bok Joo has someone who'd seen her good and bad, knows her inside out, and appreciates every single bit of her by her side, and for that, we can count Bok Joo a girl brimming with Bok.
