[Review] Cinderella And The Four Knights Episode 15 - 16 (End)
Alas, toasts to all the knights, princes, and princesses picnicking by the greenery. (I can't help but feel envious that the characters don't have to work.)
Good to find myself still wearing a smile at the very end, because things get outrageously inconsistent in the middle and I was near to throwing a fit for the lousy development. Grandpa, Ji Woon and Ha Won stay firm with their ping pong game and none decides to step down until time is running out for the finale - Ji Woon falls onto his knees, Grandpa relents for god knows why, Ha Won declares she's not going back to Ji Woon despite Grandpa's permission to do so, yet a simple ring discovery brings both running up/down the stairs to hug and kiss each other. Okay.
And then Grandpa has a complete switch in personality and decides to woo Scheming Mom back, the Stepsister-mom just reconcile with Ha Won for no reason (again), and Seo Woo goes busking on the streets. Okay. Okay.
And I can't believe creativity juices already flowed towards using funeral items as love tokens. What? Hah. Caught speechless.
This drama started with a roaring engine and burst every single veins in us with its star-studded cast and heart fluttering plot, then steered to a roundabout where we're just trodding over and over the same conflict point - Hyunmin playing tug-of-war with Hyeji and Ha Won contemplating to stay with or leave Ji Woon. Then it hits a dead end of story stagnation, and I'm just whining for it to be over. Luckily it's not a no return road and we revive this nonsensical drive with an explosion of cuteness by Jung Il Woo at the end, who forbids skinship as a 'punishment' but withdraws it as soon as he issues it. Hah. See who's the one who can't tolerate no intimacy for even three seconds, let alone a month.
I'm happy to ride this drama with Jung Il Woo, Ahn Jae Hyun and Park So Dam (new found favourite!), it's a brilliant Cinderella story retold and let's have more Jung Il Woo in future alright?
