[Review] Bromance 愛上哥們 Episode 18 (End)

Fast forwarded so much that I had to return to check if I've missed the revelation. Nope, just a tacky way of handling the exposure, cheeh. Lucky I've skipped all scenes and decided to zoom into only Qing yang and Nana's story - theirs are the one that keeps me going.

I'm actually thankful that this couple is kept as a sideline story, which allows the growth of their relationship to be a simple but sweet one. From the day they met and sought companionship with each other, till the day they'd grown so dependent and emotionally attached to each other, both showed no hesitance when it comes to dealing with their feelings. Nana was straightforward to confess her love for Qingyang, and the latter showered her with bountiful amount of love that could kill one with envy. They were a complement of each other, so perfect in one way or another, and it is just so satisfying to see things work out for them at the end of the day.

[Edit]

A standing ovation for the drama after watching the special episode - talk about perspective! I'm completely amazed at how editing skills can flip our perspective upside down, and make us view the characters in a brand new light. Zifeng was initially a guy whom I think accepts the fact that he's gay, and goes ahead taking the masochist role in the relationship with Yanuo. But now that we learnt that he only started the relationship (his love confession) after knowing she's a girl, things have change. Zifeng instantly becomes the archetype of the prince charming who gazes at his little princess wistfully, all willing to protect her in silence (or whatsoever). I gape at the fact that my mental image of him being a overly disgusting kiss demander was washed out immediately and replaced with a sweet knight in shiny amour now. Wooah. This drama really challenges our appetite to take homosexual issues into hand.
