Holiday Job: Course Trainer
Three days alone I've met 3 Jaydens, 1 Cayden, 1 Hayden, 1 Aidan (Ayden), 1 Kyler, 1 Kyle, 1 Tyler, 1 Skyler, 2 Lucas... so on and so forth. One pair of siblings named Jane and John, another named Ashley and Ashton, one pair of boy twins, one girl telling me she has twin sisters at home, one pair of korean siblings... A girl called Preethi (Pretty), another girl called Wynn (Win). So you know the trend of getting names nowadays. People try to be unique in name creation but end up clashing with the others.
The job was initially a headache, but as time passes, you start to grow fond of the different types of children that you're teaching. Every child has his or her own personality that makes them so endearing: the ones who smile sweetly at you and tag behind your back everywhere you go, the ones always so mischievous and you know they are merely trying to get your attention (they insisted they were wrestling aka playing instead of fighting, LOL), the ones who keep raising their hands to give you answers... The glint in their eyes to question and learn new things, that's what motivates me the most (the tutor nature jumping out from me haha). I find it really important to speak in their language and not give them perfunctory response, because they can sense it even though they are young. Treat them seriously and they'll be drawn to you closer without much effort.
Well, that's why I ended up memorising every individual names within the 3-hour lessons. I thought that would be what I'd like my own teacher to do at the very least, if he or she wants me to listen more to the lesson. Lol. Little hiccups here and there, but I still have my voice with me and hopefully it continues to stay for the next couple of weeks.
Off day today, I shall go out for buffet~!
