JDrama Kasuka Na Kanojo Review

Bringing down another drama this weekend: J-Drama Kasuka na Kanojo! This horror comedy explores the current phenomenon of aggravating distrust between students and educators, and how a teacher in slump rises to inspire his students and eventually unites everyone as one. Meanwhile, a love line is bridged between him and a spirit living in his dormitory, with the help of this cute-funny-lovely former teacher ghost, a series of adorable scenes is guaranteed for sure!

I loved how brilliant Jdrama scriptwriters are. They are always capable of weaving in great twists and incorporate meaningful scenes so that they connect and don't seem redundant. Indeed, it is beautiful that Kamiyama and Akane hold mutual feelings for each other despite their circumstances, however we have to admit the overwhelming obstacles standing in their way - Life & Death. Thumbs up that the writers do not conveniently avoid this glaring issue but choose to challenge it - letting Kamiyama hover between life and death. He could naively choose to die and be with Akane forever, but would he then (and as Akane's wished) be courageous enough to return to living even though more challenges are lying ahead and waiting for him?

Wise words that are often forgotten:

Instead of wanting others to understand you, why not understand others first?

We like to throw tantrums at our parents thinking they don't understand us, but have you ever wondered, did you once put yourself in their shoes and think from their point of view? Don't always feel victimized, instead open your heart and embrace the other heartily. Remember, everything happens for a cause, so listen, think, before you act, else you'll regret.
