JYJ’s Junsu talks about the end of their legal battle with SM Entertainment

"방송 활동은 글쎄요. 크게 달라지지 않을 것 같은데요. 기자님들은 어떻게 생각하세요?"

“이걸로 방송 활동을 할 수 있을까 글쎄 모르겠다. 우리는 항상 꿈꾼다. 하지만 오히려 기자님들께 여쭤보고 싶다. 할 수 있을까요?”

Largely due to entering the fandom late, if you talk to me about jaejoong, yoochun and junsu, the word 'JYJ' always seems to appear more comfortable to me as compared to 'TVXQ'. I do not share the joy and tears many Cassiopeia shed, or mull over the break of 5-member dong bang shin ki, because when I'm being introduced to these five artistes, it is a fact that they are active in two very different groups. Whenever I see any (and I don't do it often) 5-member videos, it feels that I'm watching a historical documentary that is so unfamiliar and distant away. It doesn't feel real, like a group that existed only in Neverland.

So, it has started and been internalized in me that JYJ is this secluded group who doesn't appear on broadcasts, or variety shows, which on the bright side made them even mysterious and have me willing to track their news through social media. I have always hated over-exposure on media, which happens to a lot of artistes and I believe I don't have to name them. It makes them so easy and available that it slashes their value. You know, market value. If i can see you almost every day and everywhere, it is not difficult for me to get sick of you. And I don't want this to happen to JYJ, even though I'm clearly aware appearing on broadcast can greatly boost their popularity. I don't wish them to integrate back to the typical life of rushing to inkigayo, mb, variety and doing exactly what other groups are doing, I hope the uniqueness of JYJ wont go away and they can stay as the group whom you can't reach that easily. It is this idea of 'idols' of the past, whom you only get to see once in a while and that's how they remain 'fresh' to you. Yea, like actors, we don't get to see actors that often (hyunbin, wonbin...), that's why I adore them so much, and how I differentiate 'celebrity' and 'commoner'.

Thus, like what junsu hinted, ending the legal suit doesn't 100% 'legalize' them to return to broadcast stations. As much as I respect their dream to do so, I see that they are functioning well even without it. I still watch their dramas, listen to their songs, follow up on tweets, trailing their news on whatsoever, in fact it turns me from a passive to an active fan, constantly finding out what they are up to. Isn't this better, in contrast to media feeding their images to me more than I can digest and finally burping everything out and refusing to take them in anymore?
