Anime Movie: Hotarubi no Mori e 蛍火の杜へ

Paining my heart for no reason again. I didn't know this is a melancholic movie, it felt like thousands of daggers were driven into my heart, yet at the same time so heartwarming to see that they could finally touch and hug each other. For the first and last time, so bittersweet.

From the very beginning, the story was already paved towards doom. Seriously, what's there to expect from a couple if the taboo was set as See-No-Touch? But I gotta say I was guessing the guy to be some kind of firefly which dies in lieu of the harsh winter, or maybe he perishes to save the girl, nah I got them all wrong. Because of a passerby kid, a freaking passerby! Nevertheless it served as a great twist, because this makes separation come so sudden (well, actually not that sudden since they probably have an idea or two that the day is coming) that we couldn't react in time but to follow what's thrown to us - all emotions jumbled up and stirred furiously till we're happy, sad, and moaning crap. Awww my two streams of tears.

No fancy movement, a love story so simple but sincere that it thwarts, wrings your heart, and splits you into halves. Worth my 30 minutes! Watch it here if you would like to try it.
